Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro

This summer I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with Charity Challenge raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. I decided I wanted to climb Kilimanjaro in 2009 when I successfully climbed Mount Kenya as part of a month long charity expedition. I self funded the cost of the expedition so that all of the money raised went to Macmillan. Unfortunately I have lost all of my grandparents and other close relatives cancer, so this inspired my fundraising and motivated me every step to the top of the mountain.

On both of these trips I kept a daily diary as a memory of my thoughts and emotions throughout the treks. It is my aim to publish these diary entry's, alongside corresponding photographs of the experiences, to inspire and motivate anyone who has ever thought of pushing themselves outside of their comfort zone to stop thinking about it and get out there.

My Kilimajaro diary begins after months of training, (largely consisting of regular walks in my hiking boots, gym classes and fitness dvd's), fundraising and purchasing equipment.
